So a Level 20 Arcane Symbol is actually worth 2000 main stat.
I mean, I said they give you a "bunch" of flat stat, but they give you a whole 300 main stat at Lv1 (and 30 AF) and every level up they give you 100 stat and 10 AF more. The higher their level, the more stat and AF they give you. Going from Lv1 to Lv2 requires fusing 12 duplicates, the amount you need only goes up and up from there. It's the only way to level them, they cap at Level 20. You have to do this fusion to level up the one you have equipped. What you do with duplicates is, the extra ones are automatically "fused" into the one you have equipped when you double-click them in the Equip inventory. You need to get your base Symbol first, then the game will let you acquire duplicates. And as you can tell, they lock you out of any other ways to get them before you have done the prequest. You can only actually equip one of each area's Symbols at once.
